The Civil War Soldier (Grades K-3)

In the program The Civil War Soldier students will gain a basic introduction to the Civil War and learn what life was like for soldiers.  From their duties to their uniform students will experience The Civil War Soldier through hands- on activities and the opportunity to handle an artifact from the Civil War.

Story Hour engages our youngest learners in historical topics and museum settings.  This program explores the Glorious March to Liberty: Civil War to Civil Rights through children’s literature and an accompanying craft activity.  Refer to the program guide for a selection of our books.

Glorious March to Liberty: Civil War to Civil Rights (Grades 4-12)

The Glorious March to Liberty: Civil War to Civil Rights introduces students to the Civil War and the arming of African American troops.  This program delves into our main exhibit and offers students the opportunity to learn about the contributions of African Americans in securing liberty and equality for themselves and their posterity under the law.
