First Saturday Descendants Presentation

Every first Saturday we feature a descendant of a United States Colored Troop who presents information about their ancestor.  Come join us for this program or if you are interested in presenting information about your information please complete this online form or download our descendants form (PDF) and return it to the museum by email: dawnchitty(at)afroamcivilwar.org (subject line: descendants form) by fax to 202-667-6771 or by mail at 1925 Vermont Ave, NW Washington DC 20001.

The museum records the presentations for future reference.

Operating at the state level, assists in carrying out the Civil War Memorial Freedom goals and programs.


Special Days and Events of Remembrance include Founder's Day, Martin Luther King Jr., Day, Black History Month, and Veterans Day.
